RYCCA cleans up the park

In the months before Monday, April 28, 2003, RYCCA and many volunteer helpers did a lot of work to clean up the park above the Vida Abundante church. There was a lot of work to do. Weeds grew high. Grafiti covered the walls. The swingset was broken, and rust was spreading on many of the other playground elements. The place was not very inviting.

The community with government assistance gathered a team of volunteers who worked hard. They cut the brush, gathered sticks, painted over the grafiti, fixed the swings, and loaded an entire dump truck with the junk.

In the end, the team did a good job; the park was clean and the grafitti was gone. The park was ready for the opening day and many happy hours of play time by neighboorhood kids.

But more importantly, it was ready to be used as a gathering place where neighboorhood people can not only meet with each other but also find Christ.
